License Control
I don't know what has happened, but it seems my license control is screwed.
Everygame that uses the License Control won't start (FOF, OOTP6 & Total Pro Football). I looked in my registery and for some reason the licctrl directory is 4 levels deep. Not sure if I have been hit by a virus or something. The only change to my PC is the installation of my ISP provider anti-virus software (COGECO). Is it "actived"? If not try that otherwise you probably need to contact http://www.elicense.com

Yep, it was activated and working before I installed my Cogeco security services. I uninstalled this security set and OOTP or I should say eLicense works fine (for all games).
This security suite is doing something to disable the eLicense feature. The suite includes firewall, anti-virus and spam - all for free from my ISP. I guess it was too good to be true ![]() Thanks for the reply Steve. I will try and figure this out or just re-install norton. |

I just had my version 5 and 6 stop working. It would just give me the hourglass for a second and then be gone. I looked under e-license and it was empty.
I e-mailed the license guys and within 15 minutes they gave me a new license number for both products. I e-mailed back, now what do I do? They told me to uninstall it and re-install it. I tried it with 6. Several times. No matter how I install it, it just gives me the hourglass and will not start the game to let me put in the license number. A week later and two UNANSWERED letters to tech support. I had to have to program running for a league I am running, so I installed it on a slower machine and it works there. However, I am very unhappy with the support I am getting to get it working on the machine I had it on before. Just to totally ignore my e-mails is very unprofessional. Larry

Who did you email? What email provider do you use?
In XP: Control Panel>Admin Tools>Services. Make sure LicCtrl is enabled.

My suggestion is to use this board for help and answers. I posted my issue and had a reply from Steve very quickly.
Not sure who you were emailing for help, but Steve is usually pretty quick. I think he lives on these boards ![]() Regarding your issues, I would suggest uninstalling whatever you have installed between the time it was working to the time it stopped. Especially if it was a firewall, anti-virus or spam blocker etc. and then try it again. For me it was a free security software offered from my ISP that prevented eLicense from working. As soon as I uninstalled and tried I was fine. At least now I know what the issue is, and can focus on the remedy. |
