All Chump Team - Chicago White Sox

Here's my take - they don't really go back very far, because a lot of this is based on my own subjective observations:

1B - Mike Squires
2B - Julio Cruz
SS - Jose Valentin
3B - Tim Hulett (Joe Crede HM)
OF - Dan Pasqua
OF - Ron Kittle
OF - Daryl Boston
C - Ron Karkovice

SP - Kirk McCaskill
SP - James Baldwin
SP - Melido Perez
SP - Jaime Navarro
SP - Jim Parque
(Honorable Mention - Dave LaPoint, Doug Drabek, David Wells)

MR - Scott Eyre
MR - Tom Fordham
MR - Gary Glover
MR - Steve Rosenberg
MR - Jose Paniagua

CL - Billy Koch

That must make him a Chump Star.

I would think Ivan Calderon would be a much better fit in the outfield than Ron Kittle...Kittle was a fan favorite for all his roof shots at Old Comiskey; Calderon's contribution consists of one decent season and that the Sox traded him to the Expos (along with Barry Jones, another great Chump nominee) for Tim Raines.

You're gonna have to make a lot of room for this year's squad.

Give an OF spot to Podsednik. Crede needs to get the 3B spot. Now. Immediately. God, I hate Crede.

Does the All Chump team need to have guys who were regulars? Karkovice was horrible offensively, but at least he could play defense.

I disagree with Valentin and Glover. Glover wasn't a star, but he was hardly that bad. I'd put Neal Cotts on that list before him. Neal Cotts is close to reaching Crede levels of hatred in my heart. These people are destroying my loyalty to the team.

Kenny Williams should have an OF spot. Not so much for his poor play, but because he took a 95-win team and in a handful of years has turned them in to a 70-win team.

How did Dan Pasqua spend SEVEN seasons with the White Sox? That's unfathomable. I really hated him. I didn't care for Cory Snyder, either.

I was just looking up some players and I found what has to be one of the dumbest trades I've ever seen: Jorge Fabregas and Chuck McElroy from the Angels for Tony Phillips and Chad Kreuter. Phillips' OBP was .440 at the time! I wonder what the philosophy behind that trade was.

What about Steve Sax when he was with the Sox and more recently Todd Ritchie.

Sax & Ritchie really weren't with the Sox long enough...but Ritchie is a good choice, considering how much the Sox gave up to get him.

Royce "The Choice" Clayton, however, is a very good choice.

Clayton played 47 more games with the Sox than Sax did. Sax was much, much worse with the team.
