CATO problems - please help!

i too am having a problem when it gets to the ltrans file. Heres whats going on:

- csv files export flawlessly
- i get a type mismatch at the ltrans file, saying that my team abbrevations dont match. my abbrevations havent changed, i even went backed and looked in all the previous seasons and they all match up.
- after i hit exit it skips the assign players to FA, and starts copying the master data. I then get a runtime error, saying something about duplicate entries or something, i cant remember exactly what the error says.

- i checked my ltrans file for "=r" and i didnt have any
- i even tried to import with win shares turned off, and still same problem exists

- whats even more mindboggling...i went ahead and simmed the entire next season, which for us would be 1908, and tried importing that into CATO, and it worked successfully. for som reasons 1907 doesnt want to cooperate

Does anyone have any info on how i can get by this? I am using OOTP6.11 and CATO 6.1.4.

Thanks.

This is a question I've been meaning to ask some people. Is this a league using a roster set? Or is it a fictional league?

If I recall correctly, Lahman is a roster set using actual players.

And this is purely an observational comment, but it 'seems' that fictional leagues aren't associated with as many Cato problems. Maybe it's because there are fewer of them using Cato though so it's not as pronounced.

Foolish me didn't every realize he was using Lahman's. Sorry about the foolish question.

I just ran into the same issue. I'm in the 11th year of a fictional league. I'm going to be trying to figure it out, so maybe together we can come up with something.

This error occurs during transactions with multiple entries for a player on the same date. Check for these players and just move the second transaction to the next day. If there is not a tag in the file for that day just create one. I have had this process correctly most of the time but once in a while this one comes up. This error also occurs if you get an error during the season that blows you out of the game but saves the information to the file before it exits. There may be entries for the same day twice. example would be that it would say 6/30 followed by 7/1 then goes back to 6/30. Just check for these and then cut and paste the 2nd date behind the first date entries....

Other than this I have not seen this problem with CATOBASE....

I play mainly fictional leagues and don't have many problems with CATO. I have had a lot of problems using imported databases though. Now the past versions of CATO was a nightmare - too many problems, but 6.1.4 is pretty stable...

Hmm, I'll have to give that a try. I gave up using CATO for one league because of this same error. When I get home today, I think I'll see if that fixes it.
