Tigers open in one of OOTP's best Historic Leagues

The Golden Age of Baseball (GABL) has recently had the Detroit Tigers open up. We are a historic league that uses OOTP5 and have recently started our 2nd season(1978) We sim 3 times/week on a M/W/F schedule, use CATO and are in the process of getting BOSI up as well. The primary difference between GABL and other historical leagues is that we draft players through the amateur draft in the year they were actually DRAFTED into the majors, rather than importing them in the year they made their major league debut, as most historics do. Because of this feature, our Amateurs require a NORMAL
amount of development, instead of being major league ready when drafted. We have an excellent group of GM's that were initially part of an invite only group, and since has expanded by a few of quality other GM's. The Tigers finished 86-76 in 1977, 8 games behind the eventual World Champion New York Yankees. They have the 12th best farm system in the league, featuring 2B-"Sweet" Lou Whitaker, SS-Alan Trammell and 1978 1st round draft selection, closer Doug Jones. They are sitting on 14 mil in cash and are on pace to be profitable or break even in 1978. They are led by their excellent starting pitching. 26 year old Fernando Arroyo won 20 games in 1977, 21 year old Dave Rozema was the AL Rookie of the Year while winning 23 games with a 3.39 era, and they also have 23 year old, 4.5 star Mark "the bird" Fidrych. On offense they are led by 78 Free Agent signee Reggie Smith, who hit 28 HR's with the Dodgers last year and 27 year old 2B Bill Madlock, who hit .381 with 13 HR's last year, and is off to a blistering pace 3 weeks into the 78 season, hitting .388 and already having won 1 AL Player of the Week Award. If you would like to be part of this great league that is reliving fairly recent history, IM me at AndersenMat or email me at mandersen@gotucson.com. You can check out the league at
www.goldenageofbaseball.com. Openings have rarely lasted past a day in this league, so ya better hurry!

Would you please shut up about this best historic league crap? Generally, leagues which are in fact one of the best don't need to mention it.

there was no bitching out. I asked remangii if I had done something in the past that had offended him that would cause him to try to hijack my thread. I had gone to remangii when I had started this league for some advice, which he gave to me, so wasn't real sure what the problem was. I have the aim convo, but there's no point really to stoop to that level. Obviously I've done something that I'm unaware of. Either way, whether the league is great or not is a matter of opinion. I'm of the opinion that it is, but obviously I'm biased Still looking for a solid Tigers GM. Thanks.
