Problem with prospects signing at FA period...

Hello,

My solo league just finished it's first season. About August of the first year, I was reading on the board about switching to 'June 1st' draft. It's more 'realistic' and challenging, so I wanted to do this as well. Everyone was saying how if you were going to implement this change, do it AFTER June 1st of your current season. So I did: I switched it to June 1st in about mid August of my first season.

Went through my first season... Proceeded to next season. Signed coaches, etc. Then the FA period came. Uh oh, I saw all these 5 star prospects (blue stars) showing up (young 19-24 year olds with no experience) in their first pro year. ACK! I thought maybe they were 'unsignable' or something. I just let it go, and noticed no AI controlled team bothered signing them during the first 29 days of Free agency. THEN, on the last day of free agency, all the young prospects got signed to minor league contracts. Everyone got prospects but me (its a good thing my farm system is dynamite!)... Still, very aggrevating....

I am assuming the base rookie class at the beginning of a league is setup from the first season. And since I didn't have a draft (and wasn't planning on having one until June 1st of 2005 - a year and a half after playing from beginning of season 2004), it had these players created that needed to be 'used'. ???

I just want to make sure, come June 1st 2005 of my season, a new batch of rookies are created to draft. Also, I'd prefer not to have the AI sign all the prospects to minor league deals during free agency (Should not be happening). Hoping this is a first season flukey deal?

Really confused right now. If this keeps happening, I will switch back to standard off season draft (which I assume won't allow those rookies to be put in the FA market and instead in the draftable players list).

Yes. That's the first thing I did when I registered/installed OOTP. Installed 6, then patched to 6.11.

It's happened to me before too.. but in a different way. When I remember how I did it, I'll post it.
