Patriots vs. Steelers...

What does everyone think? I'm thinking the Patriots will make short work of the Steelers. I'm going down to my sportsbook and placing a large wager on the Patriots...

It will be interesting what the line will be. The way that Rothlisadsfasdf played last week can't have Steelers fans too confident right now.

I guess living in Las Vegas you're expected to blow some of your money.

Skipaway,

I'm bummed, it was a straight pick and I didn't bet. I've been a coward all season, not this week...

Any guess on what the line will be? My guess is Steelers minus 2.

It's at Patriots minus two and one-half right now. Which is why I need to bet tomorrow before the line shifts anymore...

Wow, that makes sense. The Pats weren't favored at home against a team they had beaten 6 straight times, but they go on the road against a team that dominated them this season and they are a 2 1/2 point favorite.

Picking the Patriots again. Picked 'em against the Colts, but had some doubts. Anyhow.. yeah. Patriots go into Pittsburgh and prove that Dillon being healthy, and the pressure of the playoffs, is what they need to beat the Steelers this time around. Patriots 24, Steelers 13.

AFC Championship MVP: Willie McGinnest
Turning Point: Big return from Troy Brown
Sleeper: Bethel Johnson

Yeah, I imagine the Steelers' poor showing had a lot to do with that. I want to bet soon in case a "steam move" goes down, shifting it more...

Frankly, other than the Eagles last few years that project they lose now, the Steelers were the only team I thought gave them a chance of losing. So NE facing them certainly doesn't scare me.

Also it looks like a classic Vegas reaction to the severe underestimation of the Pats this week. I'd take the Pats at anything less than minus three and a half. I know they lost at Heinz, but I don't think they're going to turn it over five times again.

The Patriots are going to stomp a mudhole in the Steelers and the NFC representative, soon thereafter.

I for one am pretty sick and tired of hearing the Patriots fans whining how the only reason they lost against the Steelers was because Dillon was injured. Let's look, the Steelers not only had a great run stopper in Pro-Bowler NT Casey Hampton injured for the game, but also had former defensive ROY MLB Kendrell Bell injured for the game. Granted, Hampton still won't be back, but his replacement Hoke (who hadn't started a game before Hampton got injured) is playing a better game now than when the Steelers played the Pats. There's an outside chance that Bell may be available to play this weekend, but even if he doesn't the Steelers will stop Dillon. It seemed to me that Kevin Faulk ran the ball well against the Colts yesterday, but against the Steelers, he couldn't get anywhere. I guess my point is, the reason the Patriots couldn't run the ball against the Steelers wasn't because Dillon was injured, it was because the Steelers have the #1 run defense in the league.

As for the game coming up, everything comes down to what the Steelers offense is going to be able to do. The Jets could only muster 3 points against the Steelers defense, and I expect much the same against the Patriots. The only reason the game was close against the Jets was because of turnovers. The interception returned for a touchdown, and then the Bettis fumble while the Steelers were driving the ball. I think the game will likely come down to whichever team turns the ball over less, and ultimately, i think what the weather will be like. So far in every game this season where Roethlisberger has worn those stupid gloves, he's had a poor game. I for one am praying for a clear night and 50 degree temps, though I doubt that's gonna happen.

It's two very good teams, but i'll have to go with the Pats on this. They've got the momenteum, shutting down one of the most powerful offenses yesterday. That combined with the Pitts shaky win over the chockign Jets, makes it an almost no-brainer

How Patriots fans thinking that they will beat Pittsburgh next week can equal whinning beats me.

Its confidence that we have since Dillon is playing.
