Import Real Rookies

Started a replay in 1968.

I am currently in 1973.

What happens in 1977 when I import real rookies into the league with the new teams. Where will all of the Torornto rookies go? Will they become free agents?

Thanks, but that says in version 3.0. Will it still be the same 3.11 versions later?

It looks like too much work for what I am doing. I had not planned to expand, I was just worried about what happened to the rookies for the teams not in my league, it says they go into the FA pool, so that is cool.

What I may do is expand and then fill the new teams with all fictional players. Maybe pump up their stats a little before I create them to give them a little chance. Since the sim will be 9 years old at that time, most of the teams do not resemble their real life counterparts because of the FA's moving around. It could be interesting how the teams fare.

I did that before and was hoping that they new teams would be a little more agressive with free agents, but they did not sign anyone for a couple years. Maybe even pump some extra money into them.

This is why I wish we had manager profiles, like Strat-o has.

Yes, the players for Toronto and Seattle will go into the FA pool. After 1977 though, if you select "assign players to original team" then they will go to the correct team, including Toronto and Seattle.

There are many options when following expansion historically. You can do your own expansion draft, find out who was actually drafted and move those players to the expansion teams, just use fictionals for the first year as you suggested. It's really up to you how you want it to eveolve. Anyway you choose, it's a lot of fun.
