A glimpse of Canal Park
Here's a number of pictures of Canal Park, home of the Akron Aeros, just a few blocks from where I work. I have season tickets in Row H directly behind 3rd base. It's a beatiful minor league (AA) ballpark - and one of the Pic #2 is usable in OOTP for those looking for small town ballparks.

I bet cow milking contests will be all the rage in MLB during the '05 season!
Nice place. |

Nice pics, Henry. I used to be able to see the outfield scoreboard (and left and center field) from my apartment livingroom window. That was before Children's Hospital did all of their new construction. I still can hear the cheers of the crowd, the PA announcer, and the National Anthem singers (where do they get some of those people?
). I try to see a few games a year. It's a nice park, and a great place to see a game, just for the enjoyment of the game itself.

St. Petersburg, Florida also has a great park - Al Lang Stadium (Devil Rays and formerly Cardinals) with a downtown location and view of the pier/docks.
here's a link that has photos ... if you care.. (no views from the seats however.) http://www.springtrainingonline.com/...bay_rays_2.htm |

Ugh, I look out the window and see frozen tundra. I wish it were springtime already.

I love the way the stadium sits within the city. Very nice park, never seen it before.

Thanks, BigCity.
Thanks for the tour...really enjoyed it. Thanks for the stadium...I'll see how it looks in the game. This is a fine ballpark...hope to visit it one day. Minor League Baseball is my favorite...the Majors have priced themselves out of my league...$100 to $150 a game for two people is totally outrageous. But when the misguided owners are willing to give players $15 million a year...and none...absolutely none of them are worth it...this is the way it will be. I'll take a minor league game anyday...saw the Oneonta Tigers and the Auburn Doubledays this past summer...great game...saw the Boise Hawks and Eugene Emeralds several years ago. (great hamburgers and hot dogs hot off a steaming grill with grilled onions and peppers and only about $2-$3 each...cokes were $1.50...tickets $5-$6...parking $2 (see what it would cost at the Ballpark at Arlington where they charge you $8 to park and then you have to walk a mile to the stadium...it cost about $150 for the two of us)..the Ft. Worth Cats and San Angelo Colts at beautiful new LaGrave Field in Fort Worth...cost about $20 for two...the Baton Rouge Blue Marlins and the Montgomery Wings at a gorgeous old stadium Patterson Field in Montgomery...and the Birmingham Barons and Huntsville Stars in a retro game at the Rickwood Classic played each year in Birmingham at the oldest minor league park in the country...Rickwood is the stadium where the movie "Cobb" was shot.
