Crash at loading league....I can't find a suitable solution after uninstall/reinstall

I have tried a search, and cannot find a suitable response.

I have played OOTP6 on this computer since it came out, and never had a problem. I am using 6.11. I started a historical league using the Ankit database. I had a problem with a league, and deleted it. Prior to deleting it, I opened a new league. I know that this was a cause for my crash. Since then, I uninstalled the game, and reinstalled. I started a new league. Now, every time I turn my computer on, and click on OOTP, I get another crash. So far, I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times. Every time was because I shut my computer down, and restarted it later in the day.

I am using Windows ME, IE 6, and my DirectX should be updated (it has never been a problem before).

Problem solved. I don't know how, but I am not getting anymore crashes. This thread can be deleted. Thanks.

Actually it cannot yet. Since it doesn't explain anything.

I am experiencing a crash using a custom league of imported and edited players. If I exit the program with this league as the selected league, any attempt to re-open the program leads to a crash error immediately after the load bar finishes, where you would usually select from the menu. If i select the default league before closing, it loads the game and league fine, usually. Since i prefer to play the custom league, it adds an extra step and extra minute of load/exit time to the game. If i don't follow these steps, i have to re-install to get it to load. Simply fiddling with the out of game setup does nothing, the crash is still there. Other than being annoying, particularily if I forget, its not a problem. the league still works fine apparently (other than the closer saves bug in 6.11).

Upon reflection, I believe i recently updated my graphics card drivers. I haven't noticed any problems with other games/programs however.

Check to see if any players have negative ages. A few historical players have unknown birthdates, so OOTP gives them a birthday of 0/0/0 when it imports them from ankit's or Lahaman's database. This also gives the player an age of -1. If any player has a negative age, the game will crash when you try to play out a game or when you try to load the league. Just edit the player's birthdate to give the player a positive age.
