Does anyone know if PurSim allows you to import leagues from previous version?(i.e. OOTP5 into OOTP6 foe example)

You download the beta version and receive updates for 20 USD as part of a subscription. Several companies do this for their games to build interest in the product.
I will give the game a try.

The answer to this is yes....100% compatable. Shaun over at the Grey Dog Software forums answered my question.

Well my hat's off to Shaun for giving this a try. I'm definitely going to give the free Preview a look. The week-long limitation in the PS 2004 demo kept me from giving it a try, as I couldn't guarantee I could give the demo enough play to really put it through its paces.

Awesome! I love Puresim and I hope this means more people will give the game a try...

I have played OOTP since version 2 and have played PURESIM since 2003. Both games are good. I play more OOTP than Puresim but feel that the game is very good. I play OOTP because there are more utilities and 3rd party software for the game......but I hear shaun has opened up the data formats so that more utilities could be written for the game. Ideally Puresim would be great if it had the CATOBASE program.

I thought about writing a program that creates the files needed to import into CATOBASE or a program that populates the CATOBASE mdb files, then just run the create HTML to create the output. This would not be very difficult and would allow the utility to be used for either game.....

On puresim, very good game, creator is very pro-active and fixes bugs and puts out updates on a regular basis.

Shaun found a couple of bugs from first day of testing and is correcting them. I believe a new version will be up later today.

Ahah!

I think this is a great idea. I've long been an admirer of Puresim, and bought a version a few years back. I'm more than happy to pay $20 just because of the forward-thinkingness of this idea, and the willingness of Shaun to think outside the box. That kind of commitment to making your project better (while taking the risk that a bunch of wideboys will never pay ) demands support!

I'm having fun with it. It's a nice change of pace after 3 years of nothing but OOTP

I'm downloading now. Figured I try it, especially since OOTP6 has been such a disappointment.
