How Cool!....well sort of
Check this out I nearly died when it happened!
I have my little universe running and I have been playing it out all so I can have my created fighter come in and I then manage him to the top I have heaps of the tomato cans from cornerwork (thanks to all that made them up) all the up to a 12 rated champ. They are split into divisions and so when I made my fighter (rated 10) his first 8 fights are at club level all against tomato cans 1 rated fighters. So I pick this bum and set up the fight, all is going great my boy has drop his opponent twice won ever round when in the 7th bang my gets hit opens a cut and straight away they call the fight! I lose by TKO in 7......I was in shock! God I love this game

One of the great things about TBCB is that on any given night, any fighter can beat any other fighter.

Sounds good. I have a question to everyone though. If you were to play a universe like that where you actually manage a fighter and work his corner for all of his fights, what would be the best way to realistically 'progress' the rest of your boxing universe? For example, as your guy continues his career, how could you realistically match up all other fighters in the game world to maintain a progressive universe?

Guess you'd have to autosim them somehow. As promoter/manager of your fighter you'd be picking and choosing opponents based on who was where in the rankings after autosimming a bunch of fights for the other fighters in your universe. Will TBRP handle all the fighters not under your direct control?

I am pretty sure that the game will contain lots of computer controlled fighters who look after their own interests.
Another thing, how would you rate your created fighter that you were going to manage? Would you start them off with low stats and gradually increase each stat based on performance? How would you decide what to increase/decrease as his career goes on? |

I had something like this in my fictional universe before I reset it. A fighter ranked around 8 or 9 I believed got stopped in like round 3 by KO by a TC.
That TC became my hero

I was hoping TBRP would would provide some of its own structure when it came to aging fighters, or have its own system of adjusting ratings based on performance. an option to manually adjust them would make sense also, but it seems like cheating to manually adjust if you are in it for the management simulation aspect |

Yeah sorry Bam Bam, the first bit was obviously about TBRP but the second part of my message where I ask all the questions was actually about TBCB. Sorry about that, I should have made it more clear!

ah, gotcha
well to answer that too, I usually tweak there conditioning, killer instinct, defense, and control vs boxer/sugger. But it depends on how imaginative you get. For instance, in my universe, I decided to have an in-ring death!! i deleted the dead guy, and dropped the other guys killer instinct rating quite a bit. He was never the same after that fight, still went on to have a great career, but many speculate he was never able to get over that fight mentally. (ala Roy Jones kinda) lol
