How many homers
How many homers would Babe Ruth have if he didn't spend the first three years as a pitcher!
I think it is crazy to think about it....... what do you guys think about it |

Probably not much. His homerun rate was low early in the career.

I agree ^^^^
He would still have less than Hank Aaron. And less than Barry Bonds will have at the end of this coming year. |

Let's think even more crazy thoughts! How many more wins would Babe Ruth have if he didn't waste all of those years as a batter? I think maybe five or six hundred!

Here's some more crazy talk-How many would he have hit if he took better care of himself?

I would have hired him a personal trainer, got several bodyguards to keep him away from women (castration would not have been ruled out) and food, blackmailed him to be faithful (would tell his wife, priest and the public if necessary) and played him both in the outfield and started him every fourth day. He would have hit 900 homers and won 400 games. Upon retirement, he would have led the Yankees to 10 World Series, then served as Baseball Commissioner. He would not have allowed the Giants and Dodgers to go west. He would have expanded Major League baseball using the PCL, American Association and International League. He would have allowed Markus to use MLB players and teams free of charge...but only if he improved play-by-play, let us steal with two strikes and added all the missing play results and a financial coefficient to the game (my favorite requests)...and although I am personally not interested...for all of you who are...add HTH.

What if he hadn't been in an orphanage and his parents raised him to become a well-adjusted hard-working young man who took over the bar from his dad and introduced spicy chicken wings to the American public and hired some good looking waitresses and put them in short shorts and called the place Bambino's Bar & Grill.....?

The waitresses would, of course, be "Bambino's Babes", and Ruth no doubt would be reverently recalled as the Sultan of Twat.

What if Babe Ruth never existed and it was Babe Zaharias Didrickson who set the home run record?
