pitcher-catcher question
I have a pretty straight forward question if certain pitchers pitch better with certain catchers behind the plate, sort of like personal catchers like a Maddux-Lopez type thing.
I was just asking cause I have a 15 million, 5 star pitcher who after 31 games is 1-3 with a 5.50 ERA. His lone and only win so far came with my back up catcher, catching for him. I know 31 one games and one pitcher isn't enough to say this is true but that was his best game out of 6 starts he went 8 innings gave up 2 hits, 0 runs and 1 BB with 15 K's and 0 HR's...otherwise when I have my regular catcher catch him he has only lasted 6 innings and giving up 6 runs a game with at least 7 hits and 3 BB's and only 7 K's and has given up at least 2 HR per game. I know that his HR allowed /game is insanely high like 11 HR's in 37.2 innings. All I was wondering is if there is any hidden rating for pitchers or catchers throwing or catching each other? thanks hammer |

Not that I know of, but you can try starting your backup Catcher for that pitcher and seeing if the personal catcher helps. Hey, he can't really do much worse.
