text entry fields for journal entry/notemaking
I actually usually don't post an idea for the game unless the thought has been nagging at me to mention it for some time.
The particular notion addressed in this thread is one that has occurred to me on many occasions and I've almost suggested it more than once... Most recently... I've backed up my ootp 5 league and am going to convert over to ootp 6...but, after backing it up, there were 2 minor adjustments that I wanted to make before conversion...not that it matters for the conversion process, but, should I decide that I want to go back to ootp5, it would be nice to remember to make those adjustments later...I could always do another backup..but, what then, if, right after that I see another minor adjustment...and on and on... And, of course, this is just the proverbial straw that got me to write this post.. The more advantageous uses of it I see extend from making managerial notes to self, having in-game text entries to further detail players keeping a journal / manager's log of games played ease of transporting said information within an online league.. if copy/paste were available somehow, one could collect news headlines in their journal that they want to save and integrate into writing about their team if it would also be possible someday, it wouldn't be too unpleasant to be able to put hyperlink text into those text entry fields so that one could even have text hyperlinks to players from within the 'journal-writing' areas...this last suggestion of the hyperlinks might be too difficult to set up...I don't have the technical knowledge of the editors used to assemble the game's components to know about that Of course, pen, notebook, paper: these work fine....My ability to organize and find such things when I'm looking for them, however, does not. Especially, if its a league that I end up leaving sit and untouched for an extended period of time. **hmm...surprised i was not demoted back to rookie ball after the cheerleader comment episode...or have the administrators just not gotten round to noticing that yet Last edited by Filthy Slider; 11-08-2004 at 11:55 AM. |
