Loading the Game

I am having the same problems with OOTP6 as I did with OOTP5. I successfully downloaded the new version (I hope), but when I double click on the icon, the cursor thinks for a couple seconds and then goes idol as if nothing had happened. I have tried many things, but is this a firewall/virus protection problem?

Please help. e-mail: atm7@duke.edu

thanks, andre

Can you give me a bit more info? As much about your system as possible and what you have tried? Thanks

What screen resolution were you trying to run the game at?

So am I understanding you to be saying that the game has been installed or have you not gotten to that yet? I'm just not clear on that. With this being a laptop have you updated your video drivers recently?

it is my understanding that the game is installed correctly. Just when I finally get to double clicking on the icon, nothing happens.

I'm unaware of any video driver updates. I'm pretty sure I have the latest DirectX installed and enabled.

I am experiencing the exact same thing with both OOTP 6 and ITP. I click on the Icon (or the .exe file in explorer) and the curser has a 'think' for about 1/2 a second and then it is as if nothing has happenned.

I am running XP (SP-2) and a desktop PC.

I have a P4
2.2 Ghz machine
Windows XP Home edition SP2 (build 2600)
Direct X version 9.0c

hey, so I was looking around the board, and I saw that the LicCtrl services thing was not enabled on mine either. I fixed that, and now it works, Thanks a lot!
