OOTP 6.11, The Verdict?

Whatcha all think so far?

So far, it seems to me OOTP 6 has taken the next step and is very solid.

I agree. There are enough elements to make me pause and consider, where in the past much was automatic. Have to say not a single twitch that interferes with the course of my play in solo/fictional. Ready to see some of the Suggestion Box features considered now for the next version!

Looks pretty good to me so far. You can bet that if there are bugs, they'll be found and posted about soon enough.

Best fix in 6.11?

"The Mets are 35-55, 5th place in their division...
...and the Cubs are 60-31, 1st place in theirs."

Now if we can get the same for the home/road intro "The Mets is 9-3 on the road..." and the head-to-head intro "The Cubs leads the season series...", we'll be golden.

[P.S. Glad someone made a thread where this would fit... I would've felt even dumber creating a whole thread for this. ]

I don['t know if this is still in 6.11 or not, so forgive me if it is taken care of already, but...

I have seen some players, whos age is 24 years old, and they list their draft pick year as 1984. I am not sure, but I don't think he was playing at the age of 4

Just kidding.

But yeah, I have seen this on a few players. Any thoughts?

It may be my imagination, but simming multiple seasons seems to be slower than 6.10, by about 50%.

I only played 1 game with 6.11 but the sim speed was the fastest I have seen yet. I never sim more than an off day though.

Dan I was so going to use that joke, I think 6.11 is great, most of the bugs seem to have been worked out.

Ibb

6.11 seems to be handling intentional walks differently later in games. I have seen a star hitter receive an IBB in the 8th or 9th innings about 5/6 times already, this of course is fine, except that the walk has brought the tying run to the plate each time, anyone else see this? Has it been as obvious in previous versions and the number of times of seen it so far is a coincedence?

Off course there are bugs.
The two I have been reporting for example.
One critical major corruption of league data files, doesn't seem to be any effort to fix this one, even though I've offered 2 sets of league files that will cause this problem to occur when you sim.

One annoying, that hasn't worked right since OOTP4 case of it did work, a it got broke and I can't be bothered to fix it.

I don't know if this could be considered a bug, especially since the mods aren't covered, but I haven't had luck using the managermode utility since 6.11 came out. I've gone through the pre-season, I turned it off to make minor adjustments and then I can't get it back on. Did the coding change in this area for 6.11? I have to revert back to the post season last year and totally re-do the off-season. Good think I back up every December 15th!

So for people like me, who had to disable the sound in 6.10, to keep the game from crashing, if I download 6.11 can I enable the sound? I hate to experiment and lose more games due to crashes.
