Japanese roster set?

I'm looking for a Japanese roster set to have along with my league.

Players from the Japanese league would come over to the Majors of coruse.

Where can I find one? How do people come up with names?

One of the guys around here runs a Japanese league. I'm sorry I forget who but a link to his league is in his signature, I think. You might ask if he can share it with you. It might just be a fictional league with Japanese names, though. I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.

To get Japanese names, you'd overwrite your current name files (after safely storing the originals somewhere else) with Japanese name files. dougaiton has a Korean name file at the OOTP Download Center (http://www.ootpdownloadcenter.com/misc.html) that might work for you. If you're in a pinch, I think maybe I could whip one up for you.

Those new name files would only do fictional players (if you started a fictional league or the future rookies for a historical league). If you want the actual players in currently in the Japanese leagues, that's seems like a lot of work that I don't know if anyone has done yet.

Not terribly helpful but at least it's an answer ... <shrug>

We have a Japanese player in one of the BBSC leagues I commission. Basically I found a page of stats for Japanese players, found guys who would be eligible to cross over based on service time and then just took a stab at their ratings. Informal but it worked, especially if you're just looking for one or a few players.

Satoru Kanemura (on my very own Portland Bulldogs no less)
