The only complaint I have with the offseason is the amount of time it takes to go through the off season – seems much longer than last year's version of the game.

Huh? I think that its great that it takes longer to go through the off-season. Thats where half the fun is at!

yeah, I still looking for a preview of the online features or just one that includes them some more. March 1st not that far away anymore though. What is he saying about the extreme memory use. he has 512 mb ram and he has to turn the backround stuff off? I hope not.

I have 512 Athlon 1.2 gig and at times have 4 or 5 browser windows open while playing and don't have any problems to speak of. Ocassionally I have to reboot, but that happens with alot of programs and is a good idea anyway.

sure it happens with a lot of programs. but that doesnt make it acceptable to have to reboot. is this game *that* memory intensive? im sure you guys are good enough [read:better than microsoft programmers] so we can expect your programs to give back the memory, right??

I'm not saying that it is because of OOTP that I have to reboot, but being the nature of the OS it is probably the culprit.

Agreed. When I play under Windows ME, I have to reboot once every so often and need to limit what I open. Under Windows 2000, I have NEVER had a problem. It hasn't crashed since one of the early beta versions, not even once. I can have Outlook, Excel, IE, Outlook Express and Visual Basic all open while a game plays in the background. I even had OOTP3 open and making adjustments to league lineups while keeping OOTP4 open and simming.

I shut my system down through Windows (98). Also try to run scandisk and defrag every couple of weeks. I've never had a prob. 550 AMD with 128 RAM, 20 GB HD.

By the way...I love the "between season" time. As another poster stated, "that is a great deal of the fun". Please don't worry about cutting that time down.

Can't believe BBSC thought that player fatigue was a "minor" addition. It's huge!!! Love it! Hey, come to think of it, maybe we can add a consecutive games play record???? Would love to try to break Cal's record.

Baseball Sim Central posted a new Addendum to the preview:

<a href="http://baseballsimcentral.com/index/Games/Out_of_the_Park_4/1012307965.shtml" target="_blank">http://baseballsimcentral.com/index/Games/Out_of_the_Park_4/1012307965.shtml</a>

They address the free agency and system requirement concerns in this addendum.

The slowdowns wouldn't bother me ( I don't think so) I like an active offseason. Where I get to think ( i sim fastly a week at a time and check scores and stuff but I zip through it.)

I agree. I play roughly a Season a week. I take so long to do seasons...I sim day by day and check the Box Scores of each game. I look at how all my players are progressing and see If any new Free Agents have been released.

I cant wait for OOTP4....a trading block alone makes the game worth 50 bucks. I cant wait to pop that sucker on my Laptop a play all damn day at work!!
