Any TCY experts?
Anyone know where I can find a good breakdown of settings for Time Management in FOF:TCY? I do pretty well just messing around with settings but just wondered if anyone has written/found any good source.

Check the FOFC board if you haven't already.

Post a message on FOFC for someone who has the install file for TCY Helper. It's such a great program and makes time allocations a breeze, not to mention a TON of other cool features. Pair that up with TCY viewer, and well.. you're all set.

I have been playing TCY a lot lately, perhaps I can provide some humble inputs.
Its all what you're trying to do. After taking the Wyoming job (after the soley 8), I discovered my educational ranking was...39, with a prestige of 68. In an effort to boost my academic ratings, over the last 5 years I have given anywhere from 3-8 extra points to study hall for almost all of my players. This has gotten my academic rating up to 49, and climbing. If your academic rating is already VERY high, then you can afford to pug fewer study hall slots for your players...or enough to maintain your rating. I find that the default for recreation time works pretty well. I only give "extra" blocks to my incoming freshman, and occasionally a sophomore who hasn't progressed as well as he should have. I have 1-3 unhappy campers about playing time each year, oh well. To this point, I have only had one player actually leave school because of it. After a serious injury, if I am forced to accept a walk-on, I will look carefully at his skills and abilities. Rarely are they worth keeping, and I make sure to cut them as soon as I can. When recruiting athletes, I try to recruit players with 1250 or higher. This REALLY helps to get their development going, especially if you have MINIMUM high school preparation of 40 or higher. Frequently, you can get a anice player to start for three full years. It is a rare freshman that I won't redshirt. If I am forced to play a freshman, then I am darned prepared to redshirt him for his second season. |
