Historical seasons compilation group

In the Texas League thread I was responding to Cowboys3356 when I had a flash of inspiration: why don't we set up a historical seasons compilation group, and see just how many fully-featured historical seasons we can get done for the OOTP6 community?

I can do managers, minor league teams, park files, and logos for any season pretty easily, as I know just where to find all the information. If someone would volunteeer to do rosters, and else someone would volunteer to do stadiums, we could produce some useful OOTP6 add-ons. Someone might even volunteer to do facepacks.

Any interest?

Lots of interest, if I had the time! Unfortuanetly, I'm swamped at the minute, but I may well check in again when the workload goes down again.

Great project idea.

Mike, you just got the rosters.

Now we just need a volunteer to do stadiums...

This is an excellent idea! I have a 1994 League File I was going to do but haven't got much done on it and would love to throw it into this group's hands.

Here is how I would suggest breaking up the "work":

~1 person does all team records, league records, managers, HOF file, and all of the individual text files for 20 game winners, yada, yada, yada

~2 people work on the players which would include all ratings, nicknames, jersey numbers, and making sure the right people are on the right teams, player histories, etc, etc

~1 person would handle all of the financial aspects which would include individual player salaries and all team financials including team fan interest and everything on the front page. Also would handle all players photos and the stadium DAT file as well as the schedule file which we could probably get Le Grande Orange to help us with.

Anything else I am missing?

Perhaps we could use this 1994 file I have started as our first "test" project to see how it goes. The file is small enough that we could easily email it back and forth in zip form as we work on it.

What do you guys think??

What do I think?

One guy to do the managers, minor league teams, park files, and logos - that would be me.

One guy to do team records, league records, managers, HOF file, and all of the individual text files for 20 game winners, etc. - unknown

One guy to work on the players which would include all ratings, nicknames, jersey numbers, and making sure the right people are on the right teams, player histories, etc, etc. One guy to check him. They could swap out on seasons. - could be you and Mike.

If we are in the modern era, one guy to handle all of the financial aspects which would include individual player salaries and all team financials including team fan interest and everything on the front page. - unknown

One guy to do the facepack if we choose to do them. - unknown

One guy to do the stadiums - unknown, but Henry could do it easily if he would.

One guy to help with the schedule - that would be LGO or gmo if they would do it. If need be I can do it.

We need maybe four more guys - a records guy, a financial guy, a stadium guy, and a schedule guy - to make it work. Maybe five if we do facepacks.

I would suggest you or Mike as the coordinator (or you and Mike as the joint coordinators) - you seem well suited for it but Mike does have his wife's website as a place where we could upload and download files rather than email them back and forth.

Doug, if you're reading this - any ideas?

Anyone else who is interested, please speak up. A set of fully-featured historical files would be a great OOTP community asset.

I posted a request for volunteers in the OOTP6 forum. Hopefully, some talented help will be volunteering shortly.

If it does, let's make this happen. If it doesn't, let's the three of us make it happen anyway, if a lot slower.

Sounds good to me, lets get our part started and we can go from there as more people "join the team". Malleus Dei email me at cardinalfan31@hotmail.com and I will send you the league file that I have. Then you can work on it and send it back once you have finished so Mike and I can start on it.

I can lend assistance where needed. I've been addicted to creating face/photo packs for the last month. Mainly due to the fact that I'm trying to assemble the most complete version of a 1970 facepack as possible (majors and minors) for my historical epic that's beginning in that season. Essentially, instead of adding players each season of their ML debuts (a la Ankit or Lahman), my draft files will include players who make their professional debuts instead.

Anyway, I'm willing to pitch in.

Great idea, guys. I do not have a lot of time available to assist but feel free to use any images from my facepacks and let me know if there are some images you are missing as I may be able to help out a bit.

The bad news is that I am leaving to go overseas literally right away (but shouldn't be gone very long), might I suggest that you and Mike get the rosters up to snuff and I'll do my part just as soon as I get back? LGO has said that he will do the schedule - piece of cake, he said - and you can get it from him. Splitter can do the face pack for the roster when you are done with it, and heck, by then we are more than halfway home.

Everybody who wants to join up, send an email to cardinalfan31@hotmail.com and check in...let's get this party started.

I am sending the file to Mike now. Also I have a facepack with over 6,000 images from the 80s, 90s, & 2000s (many from Tigerfan's collections and credit will be given to him in the league file for his work) and we can use that for our photo pack.

Time to get things started!!!
