I don't have many Yankee fans around me, so I'll go with 1.

Sorry, but for all the complaining you do about Yankee fans, I find Red Sox fans just as annoying. Really, you need to look in the mirror sometimes There are plenty of idiots on both sides of the line in this case.

Has to be the Yankees winning because without that the second option can't happen.

I was looking for option 4 - The Yankee fanbase expanding by 5x because of the World Series win. I'm a Yankee fan, and I think that's the worst part. People are just like "Hey, Yankees man!" and they can't tell you what A-Rod is short for.

That's New York tradition, though. These are the same people who root for the Yankees and Mets, and when they play each other, say things like "I'm just a New York fan!"

S*** OR GET OFF THE POT, MAN. PICK A TEAM. IN FACT, MAKE IT THE METS SO I DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH YOU.

Sox fan? I think not! They are the lesser of two evils this year, that is the only reason I hope they win...

Yeah, I remember when I was a kid in NYC in the early 80s and the Yankees were good. There were so many Yankee fans. I was like the sole Mets fan in my class in first grade. Then, as the Mets got good in the mid 90s, suddenly there were all these Mets fans all over the place. Fast forward to the mid 90s, everyone's a Yankees fan again. I guess that's how it is when you have a city with multiple teams.

Is Chicago like that? Well, I guess neither Chicago team ever wins anyway, so who knows?

I'd like to go off the board and pick the Red Sox fans whining for another year about how everything is against them as the most annoying aspect to all this.

Sorry, I have avatars shut off here at work. Some of them were a bit too "revealing" to have on my computer screen here. Last thing I wanted was to get fired for visiting this forum So, I assumed you were a Sox fan. That old saying about assumptions rings true again. Sorry.

Oh man... my thoughts exactly. Well, except substitute "Yankee Fans" for "Red Sox fans." I watch 120 games a year... I put in my time. And all of a sudden come playoff time everyone's a friggin sox fan. Every girl's profile on my aim says something like "I <3 the sox"... and everyones away message is something like "Class, Work, then SOX."

Its not that I really mind people jumping on the bandwagon... it's those people who jump on the bandwagon and think that theyre experts that realy piss me off. I swear to God if I have to explain one more time why Mark Bellhorn doesn't suck because he strikes out too much I'm gonna flip.

Everytime I say I'm a Yankee fan, I have to tack on "I grew up in NY and have always been a fan". There are so many bandwagoners, even here in Minnesota, that people give you that krinkled nose look when you say your a Yankee fan. They expect you to be one of those bandwagoners, who know nothing about the game and just rub their faces in the loss to the Yanks. I did wear my Yankee shirt to work on Monday, but that was as far as I went

It's a lot easier for me because I'm from the Bronx, but people still question it.

I've found that a lot of the Red Sox fans I'm friends with accept me because I'm from the Bronx and according to them, "I know no better."

Probably because you should be using the word you're instead of your is why they are krinkling noses.

Well, since Yankee fans couldn't possibly get any worse (can they?), I went with the first option. Besides, living in a hockey town, I don't come across an overwhelming number of baseball fanatics, much less Yankee fans.
