FAST has openings
A combination of the removal of a few inactive owners followed by the flight of a few good owners who no longer had the time has left nine openings in FAST. FAST started out in 2001 using OOTP3 and real MLB rosters. We are now a third of the way through our 12th season and are simming using OOTP6. Our website can be found at http://www.fast.ootp-leagues.com/. We use BOSI, keep our history in CATObase, and have a news posting program on the main page. The league is run as a democracy where owners can propose new rules and the proposals are then voted on during the offseason. If you're interested in the league, read the rules page and send the commish an e-mail. The following teams are open:
Oakland Athletics - The A's have never had a winning season in FAST history, and have had 5 straight 100 loss seasons. Being part of a division with Las Vegas and Anaheim has seriously hampered this team from being good. However, this looks to be the year where they may be able to make their move. With Anaheim and Las Vegas struggling to stay afloat financially, Oakland made their move this offseason signing Rafeal Furcal and Ryan Anderson. Despite being last in the division, they are 4 games above .500 and only 6 games back, and also have the fourth best farm system in the league. Chicago White Sox - The White Sox used to be one of the elite teams of the league, battling the likes of Cleveland and Las Vegas every season. However, the previous owner pretty much gutted the team, as they have finished below .500 for the past five seasons. There is some hope out there however, as their farm system is ranked third in the league. Definitely a team in a rebuilding phase and would be a challenge for even the best out there to turn them back into winners again. Toronto Blue Jays - If you want a team that can easily compete and win it's division, then this is the team you're looking for. The Blue Jays have a very low payroll this year but have a vast sum of revenues and reserve cash. The AL East is easily the weakest division in FAST, so it can very easily be dominated by the Blue Jays. I've thought of taking over this team but have grown way to fond of the loveable loser Devil Rays to do such a thing. Colorado Rockies - Yet another team that would be a challenge to rebuild. They won their division in the first year of the league, but went downhill quickly after that, with 11 straight losing seasons, including 4 straight 100 loss seasons. This is a very young team with a lot of rookies and they also have a pretty good farm system, ranked fifth in the league. St. Louis Cardinals - The Cardinals are coming off only their fourth losing season in FAST history. The Cards never seem very far out of contention, and with the recent offseason signing of SP Josh Karp, they seem poised to take over the NL Central crown once again. Houston Astros - This has always been an up and down team. The previous owner wasn't always active, but it seemed like when he was, the team would do well, and when he wasn't the team would struggle. The team is currently struggling a bit in a much stronger than usual central division, but with plenty of financial flexibility and star Jayson Nix, it shouldn't take much to turn this team back around. Atlanta Braves - The Braves have almost always been the top of the east, until a new GM came in to take over the Reds. They have still been able to put together 5 straight 100 win seasons, but are struggling a bit this season. All this team needs is a decent owner to turn them back into champs once again. Cincinatti Reds - The previous GM turned this team around from a perennial cellar dweller to a real powerhouse. They were just one win shy of having their 6th straight 100 win season last year. With hitters like Mark Teixeira and pitching phenoms Jon Rauch and Josh Girdley, this team can't not win their division. New York Mets - After 137 losses in 2007 and then 132 losses in 2008, a new owner came in to try and turn around this storied franchise. Picking up players like CC Sabathia and Orlando Chaidez, the team has started to compete again, and is right up there with the best of the NL East.

Cincinatti has been taken. Now seven teams left, just a couple of real good teams and the rest are long term projects.
