Best overall player out of draft

Hi, I am using halofans rosters and i just went to to the draft in June 2005 (skipped 2004 draft) and with the 3rd pick i selcected Efren "showtime" Maddox he has 18 contact and 12 power overall ratings (1-20) and 10power 8 gap 10 contact 8 eye rating. He has played 6 games and had a hit in every one so far. Anyone else have anyone close to him?

Erza Volpe was abcolutely amazing. I'm using Halofan's roster too, this was in the 2004 draft. He had everything at 70s (1-100) and his talent is high 90s and 100s, he was amazin, but we decided to change all these overrated rookie ratings down a bit. He is still hitting like crazy in Double A right now.

just a word to you guys, the drafted players have nothing to do with me. I didnt touch them so if you are getting players like that from the draft....check the player creation modifiers and make sure they arent set to a goofy number

I find picks that have Nick Names preset by the computer tend to do well.

i have also noticed this in the million and million of tests and solo leagues and online leagues i run.....now in my solo league right now, i drafted a player with a nickname of "Overrated" (not even kidding) and he is just that.....all kinds of talent and not one bit of actual ability.....he lasted 4 M.L. season in addition to the 6 in the minors and he was dealt for a 5th OF that i needed for my playoff push
