Making relievers start

Hi, I'm in an online league, and I was wondering if it's possible to make a reliever (namely Danny Graves) start, and what happens to his stats and stuff if I can? Thanks.

Sure, you can make him start - the question is really whether you'd want to. His ratings remain unaffected, but of course that also means that his endurance will still be pretty low.

I imagine you could although I've never tried it. I assume he would just have low endurance.

Danny Graves's endurance is a 7, and my bullpen is already pretty stocked, so that's why I am considering it.

Yeah, he has a 9 in stuff, 8 movement and 8 control (3.5 overall), so I just wanted to see if they drop or anything. Thanks.

I once tried to turn my closer who had 6 endurance into a starter and it didn't work out too well. He went from a 1.80 era when he had closed to a 7.15 era as a starter. I put hm back in the bullpen in June and he never pitched as good as he had.

Any success stories in converting relievers to starters?

Sure, if they have good endurance it's usually not a problem. In solo leagues I've gotten dominant starters from former relievers and vice versa.

Any pitcher with an endurance of 6 or higher should be able to start with little problem. Of course, he'll probably only go about 5-6 innings before he tires.

I have done both in my solo league. I had a 3-star reliever into a 4-star starter, for a couple of years, anyway. Then he faded and retired.

This season, I have only three seviceable starters. I would gladly convert a reliever or two into a starter, if anyone on my staff had an endurance more than 3. Instead, I will need to pick up a FA, or someone off of the waivers.

This guy is starting against me in my next game (AI). This is what his career path has showed and his endurance is only 47. Averaged 5 2/3 IP per start. So not a deep pitcher but was effective.

remember my closer ended up coming in around the 2nd inning of a game because the rest of my staff was tired...he threw a no hitter the rest of the game and only has like a 1 or 2 endurance
