2015 Opening Day Breaking News Monday 4/2/2015: Jimmie Slemp pitches his 0th shutout of the season LAS VEGAS - Jimmie Slemp, usually uneffective, had a great performance against Hollywood on Monday, pitching a 2-hitter for his 0th shutout of the season. Slemp (1-0) showed excellent control, walking nobody and fanning 2. 'Wow, what a nice day. I guess I had a good breakfast today.' Jacob Lakey provided Las Vegas with the offense Slemp needed as he finished with 0 hit in 4 AB. The final score of the game was 1-0. What is of particular interest is that Hollywood's pitcher ended the game with 9.1 IP, 0 hits allowed, and a loss. No big deal, but please take note of how the game ended in the log... bases loaded, no outs, a bouncer back to the pitcher who elected to throw to first!! That's right, in an extra inning 0-0 tie in the bottom of the tenth, he opted not to get the out at home. Game over. Thanks for coming to the ballpark! Box Score and Game Log attached in zip file. Methinks that gaffe has been around in OOTP forever. Cautious when checking game logs, my man. Some plays may get your head to explode.
