Golden Age of Baseball
I know this may not be the right forum for this, but I think some of the historical buffs hang out here, so I thought I'd give it a try. I've started a historical league starting in 1977 where I've taken great pains to make it historically accurate by adding in ammy's in the year they were drafted rather than the year they showed up in the major leagues. Because of this, I went back through the 1972-1977 ammy drafts and added all major league players of significance to their proper minor league system, rather than waiting for the game to add them to the ammy draft in the year they showed up in the majors. We will be recreating history as best we can, expanding the same years MLB did. THis was an invitation only league, and has what I truly consider to be the best of the best from online ootp. We need 1 more owner, the Expansion Seattle Mariners. It's an ootp5 league, and you must own the game. You can check out the site here:www.goldenageofbaseball.com. The constitution is up, the owners link, the ootp page and the league file. If you have interest in the Mariners, IM me at AndersenMat or email me at mandersen@gotucson.com

You should make the original league file available as a Solo League file. I am sure all of the usual cast of characters would host it for you. Sounds like a good file and would be a welcome addition to the collection of Historical league files!

If any of you guys want the league file, you're more than welcome to email me and I'd be happy to send it to you.

The file isn't suitable for solo playunless you create a custom draft class each year. Otherwise, you'll have tons of duplicate players.

there's not a rookie db, sorry. I would be interested in learning more about your yearly project. If I had a rookie db to import every year instead of having to create new rookies each year, that would be VERY NICE!

Well, you could always use it as a 'jump-off point', with fictional players from there. That's what I use historical roster sets as. |
