Starting Pitcher unhappy with Playing time? Wtf?
Alright one of my starters (#1 starter to be exact, is unhappy with his playing time... even though he is the number 1 starter... what does he want?) he was injured earlier in the season so he had to go on the DL for 4 weeks... but really why wont he sign, since it says in the little box "will test the market next year, unhappy with playing time".

Currently on my team, Bob Wickman is refusing to sign an extension because he is unhappy with playing time after spending the first four months of the season on the DL.
Unhappy with playing time? You're on the DL, *******! You can't play! If you wanted to play, maybe your sorry, broken-down ass shouldn't have gotten hurt in the first place. |

I've had the same problem.. I think it may have something to do with leaving an uninjured player on the DL for even a short while (Waiting for somebody to clear waivers to open up a spot, that kind of thing..)

Well hes still got another year with me at least (good old arbatration)
Now what I don't understand is players who are still in their first year not wanting to sign for something reasonable or long term since they are gonna be here for 5 years. I had a first year pitcher demand 6 million for 2 years.... Or he can just make the league minimum since he gets auto resigned for that. Recently I've been getting boned in arbitration... my fault I guess, since I leave players in the minors until their prime. Last 3 arb deals have been for 5 million +. |

Hehe, Ive been playing with a 55 million dollar cap in my league and let me tell you, arbitration becomes a very important factor. With two or three guys having good seasons and hitting arbitration all at once, you can run into some trouble working your budget. Next thing you know that 5-10 million in cap room can disappear in a hurry... and those holes you thought you could fill with free agents suddenly need to be filled with cheap players.
It makes 'cost certainty' much more important. I now have the incentive of trying to work out a long term deal with my arbitration eligible players.

The point is this is another broken feature of OOTP. Like I have said in so many other posts- loose ends. Just a lot of them everywhere. I for one am not holding my breath they'll ever be fixed either due to the development of a game that will hopefully be radically different.(better) |

Soccer?? Isn't that just slow-motion grass hockey with no sticks, skates, or scoring? (humor flag is DOWN) |

I have never had this problem. I just resigned a player that was on the DL for 2 and a half months. But I have seen this complaint before. Maybe UngratefulDead is right. Maybe if the player is injured for say 4 weeks, and you put him on the 60 day DL he is pissed about not playing for that month he was ok. I can deal with that. What I don't like is when a player is not getting good playing time, gets traded and won't sign with his new team due to poor playing time with his last. It should reset when traded. Has that been fixed? |

I don't much like soccer either, but it's still the best career sports sim on the market. In fact, it's so well done, I love IT, even though I am not much of a soccer fan. |

As i understands it there is a counter in the Engine simply counting the Days on the 25 man Roster. You can hope that your Sp get to the rigth number of days befor the end of the season so you can resign him.

This isn't the point although. It's broken, and should be fixed. People shouldn't have to hope for loopholes or particular game circumstances for OOTP to work as intended. Do games have bugs? yes absolutely, and you squash them as quickly as possible. These kinds of things have been lingering araound for multiple versions now eg. I demand 3 mil for two year. Here's 3 mil, response: I want more money! Just lots of little things added up have really given me the feeling OOTP 6 was not thoroughly tested, and/or the game may never live up to it's fullest potential. Ordinarily small things like this would not irk me so much, and I wouldn't complain like this, but OOTP has a lot of litttle problems that have added up, but what's worst is that many of these little problems have been addressed over the better part of 2-3 years now. |
