Yet Another Poll: The Pale Hose & The Ammy Draft
Well, fair readers of my travails with the Pale Hose, it seems we're in a bit of a bind. According to this thread, it seems that with a cash amount in the negatives, you're up a creek with regards to the amateur draft. And guess what - the team in question is everyone's favorite 18-34 club.
The best options, as I see 'em: -Leave it as is, and be forced to draft guys with low signing bonuses -Edit the cash, figuring that while teams may have to work on a budget, it sure ain't this kind of budget -Trade some guys in the minor league system (Ryan Sweeney, anyone?) for cash I'd like the amateur draft to be somewhat realistic, but I'd also like the events leading up to make some sense. So I'm not quite sure what to do, and that's why you see that poll up there. Feel free to reply if you've got any particular suggestion. Craig |

If teams have grossly overspent, I say trade players for cash... If not and it's just simple economics, I say edit the cash to a small enough amout to allow signings...

Edit it. Your owner is giving you a cash infusion to help you right the ship.

Edit it. Realistically the team would have the ability to pull cash from somewhere.

Yeah, it wouldn't make much sense to have poor teams that have to focus on the future be unable to do so, edit it

Craig,
No one's looking. You could use an extra couple extra million dollars. It's the White Sox. If you want to be ethical, sure you could trade some and rip off the AI for more money, but you might be needing those players this year. |

Thanks for all of the responses, guys - I'll have no qualms with editing the cash now, and it does probably make the most sense. I'll do it for any of the AI teams that need it, though, just to assuage my conscience.

Wow.
Someone just used the word "assuage" on a baseball computer simulation internet message board. I'm in shock. |
