Oldest age a human controlled team's player has retired?

I'm just wondering what age you guys/gals have had players on your team play until.

Right now, I'm a little frustrated because 3 of my best all time players are retiring, all at age 39. That's not a bad age, except for the fact that they're up there in career leaders, and are battling against guys who seem to keep going and won't retire (all on CPU teams).

What's more frustrating is that all 3 guys still have great ratings and would put up great numbers if they kept playing, meanwhile the guys that they're competing with for all-time records all have dropping ratings, but yet they stick around and add extra stats onto their totals.

wheres a little program to bring retired players back, havent used it yet, but maybe this will help a little with that frustration!

I think human controlled players should be the one to retire, no the CPU forcing it

Be warned. This program will also make the players appear twice in your retired player file when they retire again. It kind of ruined a league for me.

The oldest a player on my team has ever reached is 44, and he was great to the end. That's with no mods to the development rate. Now I think you can make guys last longer.

My problem's been that so far only my players retire early now. I boosted the aging modifiers so now the CPU players retire in their 40's, but so far the players on my team still retire at age 38-39, despite having great ratings still.

I've had a couple of players inform me that they intended to retire at the end of the season. Yet when I clicked on 'contract extension', they gave me a figure. So I'm wondering (out loud) if they will stick around after all if you gave them some monetary incentive - assuming you can catch them in the final year of their contract.

Although, as I think about it, that doesn't stop some players from retiring midway through their contract, so its a moot point I guess.

A 44 year old Nolan Ryan is still going fairly strong in my Solo Dynasty. He plays for the CPU but still thought I would mention it. He just got his 5,000th strikeout a couple of sims back.

No, they'll retire.
