Question Dumb Question Time

I have a possibly silly question.

If I set the Hitter Aging Speed and Pitcher Aging Speed to -25%, does that mean that their skills will fall more slowly? Thanks in advance.

I had mine set at -50 for hitters, -40 for pitchers. Most of the long standing players lasted until they were 44-45 years old, so I clipped it down to -25 and -20 and guys are now going out around 39-41, which I find more realistic.

Did it hamper prospect development too much? I feel most average to above average prospects should hit the bigs around 24-25, with good to blue-chippers around 21-23.

I think that's more a factor of "Development Speed".

Awesome. I love the added customization in OOTP6. It is the single largest improvement I'd say. Just set both of mine to -22%, so lets see how it works for me.

theres been a few recent threads concerning the development modifiers. the gist of it is that they dont seem to work too well. not sure if the AI just doesnt promote younger players til later or they develop slower than they should.

i rarely see any decent players hit the bigs for good that are 24 or younger. not that it should happen often, but right now, its extremely rare. most of the comments ive seen seem to indicate that the mods arent particularly effective, youll prolly have to jack them up very high to get a younger distribution of talent in the majors

I found that the prospects still grew at their normal rate. I do have most of their development speeds at +20%, so most of them seem to show up around the ages you've mentioned.

Quick question. Has anybody noticed if this does anyhting to a players "peek" years. Most players top out around 30 then after a few seasons start a decline. By changing these setting do they peek later and if so does it last longer?
