I'm in a long-term league (about season 20) where I'm almost finished managing a team from reclamation to dynasty. Then, prior to this past season, I purchased 6.0 (now updated to 6.03). I currently have ten pitching prospects who caught the dreaded "Control Rating 1" problem. Everyone says the only fix is to edit them, but can I edit while I'm in manager mode? And if so, how? (I've also got a young pitcher who has better hitting ratings than pitching and I'd like to convert him to OF, but again, the editing issue.) What can I do, or am I missing something simple about player editing. (What makes it even worse is that one of the afflicted is one of my pet development projects, a kid a signed as a free agent after the draft, converted from reliever to starter, and groomed up to a solid AA pitcher with good potential--if I can get him his control back.)

Quick note of caution:
The pitcher editor is still broken, so when you edit one rating, it will effect the others in odd ways. This may be okay, considering that the ratings still seem to have been balanced (if poorly) to accomdate the pitcher's former performance level. If you can just suspend disbelief, go ahead and edit them as detailed above. I'm waiting until the editor is fixed for my solo league, but my team owners from the league I'm commish for asked for me to use my "best judgement" to fudge the numbers around a bit. What I wound up doing was re-importing the league under a different name and trying to get the numbers to match up the best I could for everyone it impacted - a very long, tedious, AND thankless job. - Dan

From another perspective, our online league actually left the '1' control ratings as-is. The main players affected didn't really have great control to begin with. In addition, the 1 isn't necessarily a death sentence for the player's development. It sounds like you don't want to let things be the way they are, but I thought I would at least give you a different angle on the subject.

Isn't it possible to just export the player ratings to excel, change them and then import them back in?
It seemed to work fine when I made some adjustments to a few players in my league.... Matter2003 |
