ITP.exe error message

Just switched over to a new system (XP). Was running on WIN98. When I open the game (Continue Career) it won't let me advance even one day. It tells me the Maximum is 25, whatever that means.

All the other menus open without a problem, but when I click on the Front Office building I get an ITP.exe error message (send, don't send to Microsoft) and the game shuts down.

I've tried toggling the sound and 3D capability but it doesn't work. Any ideas? I'm at the beginning of my second season.

How did you copy the league over?

Are you running the latest patch?

Are more than one team human Controled? (make a back-up before doing this)
If that is the case: Copy your folder for your player and paste it into your OOTP5 Folder. Go into OOTP5 and open it up and change the teams to Computer Control. Then go and fix all line-ups and rosters. Make sure everyone has a full roster and nobody is over 25 players. After that is done. Copy the league from OOTP back to ITP and open it up and see what happens.

OK, I now firmly believe I have irreversibly screwed up my teams.dat file in an attempt to customize my league without using OOTP5. Bit off a little more than I could chew. I would be in their debt if someone could send me a copy of an unblemished teams.dat file so I can replace mine.

Assuming this would work, of course.

Fixed it! Well, not really. I found an uncorrupted copy of league and C&P'd. Note to anyone who wants to customize thier league themselves: don't do it! it may spell ruin.
