Dog Days Baseball -- new fictional league

I'm looking for charter owners for my new fictional league Dog Days Baseball. Although I am a first time commish, I have gotten input from a lot of sources, and have put a lot of work into getting ready.

The league goes off in some unique directions. A few of them:
  • Each team has its own built-in advantages/disadvantages, and some important differences in what fans of different cities expect
  • Players have additional ratings such as attitude, athleticism, intelligence, and popularity
  • More variety in player careers
  • Coach and player contracts negotiated outside the game engine, with loyalty and attitude playing a significant part
  • Attendance is more dynamic, and depends on several different factors
  • Annual organizational goals
The league has no salary cap and allows a team to accumulate unlimited cash. After play testing this, I believe that these two facts, combined with dynamic attendance, lead to a much more interesting league.

We are using "talent only" ratings, but eight years have been played prior to human owners, so you have plenty of performance stats to go on.

Beorn

This will be my first online league. I will send you an email right after this. I believe I would like Murry River Mudcats.

Every once in a while a new league comes around that makes me lament the fact that I don't have time for another one... none more so than this one.

Best of luck with it, sounds like a great one!

MannyTrillo,

That is good to know that someone else was thinking what I was thinking.

I had been looking around for my first league and saw that the Commish of Dog Days Baseball has really taken the time to build a new fictional world for his fictional league. I think this will really be something special. I thought I had better jump at the chance to join.

Definitely. Several of the most interesting teams remain:

Cottonwood, with its development bonus to right handed power hitters

Kingsbury, its glamor making it easier to attract free agents

Redsand, with its built in advantage dealing with poor attitude players

Hinsdale, with the largest market and its restless fans who respond to frequent trades and free agent signings

Plus last year's champs, Greenwood... and perennial powerhouse Langlade

Check out the available teams page on the site!

If anyone has a slight interest in this league and has the time to join it, I say go for it. I'm already in (Go Kendall Griffins!), and am in another league with Beorn, and this guy knows what he is doing.

Of course, you can never get him to trade away his young studs for over-the-hill veterans, but that's another story...

We are starting our seventh season, and are in need for one owner -- for the Ritchford franchise. Anyone interested?

This is a great league with many factors outside of the OOTP game engine to consider when making decisions. Lots of good team articles and strong competition. Beorn is a great commish, and (for those who care) doesn't own a team himself.

I'd be interested, Beorn. Could you add me to your waiting list since UngratefulDead beat me to the punch?
