i am getting a run time error

-2147467259(80004005) field pitching.team cannot be zero length string

I got the same error. I found some details and noted them in the 5th post of this thread linked here.

Finally about an hour ago I finally got a support ticket uploaded to Cato's website with a copy of my league file for him to try to diagnose the problem.

Did your crash happen at the same sort of time as mine? If you're not sure, could you run it again and see the point where it crashes and see if it is the same situation as my crash (processing a player who was signed by different teams but did not actually pitch in the bigs for both)? It would satisfy some of my curiosity and possibly help Jeff.

...when you pick up a free agent at the near the end of the season. I got this error 3 times after I picked up pitchers off the FA list after I had injuries to my starters. I was frustrated so I just released the player and then deleted him from the FA list and it processed okay but then your team stats and the player stats for the deleted player are not accurate - also I noticed that I deleted a very good player and now he won't be on the retired list or make the hall of fame - BUMMER!!!!

I had this happen again. The pitcher I picked up played for 2 teams plus mine. Only had Triple A records with the 2nd team to release him. I picked him up and put him on my active roster.

BOOM!!!

Please Jeff can you get a patch for this??? I am going to backup my future seasons and then process them when a patch is available, I wanted to go back to version 6.0.0 but it is not available any longer........

Check the 6.1.1 Update thread, post 31 I think. There's a rather long reason why this is happening. Hopefully your problem is one of the 2 listed.
