why this player a free agent?
in the player salary report it shows this player is a free agent after this season..
Contract : Big League Contract Salary : $ 300,500 Signed Through : 2004 Years of MLB Service : 1 Year(s), 129 Days (301 total Days) MLB Service Days this Year : 117 Day(s) Years on 40-Man Roster : 3 Year(s), 14 Days (530 total Days) Years of Pro Service : 4 Year(s) Rule 5 Draft Eligibility : Protected (on 40 Man Roster) Arbitration Eligibility : Not eligible Minor League Option Years : Last Option Year this player only has 1 Year(s), 129 Days (301 total Days) years in the major. i tought you have to have 6 years in the majors to be a free agents? why is he a free agent for next season? less than 2 years = automatic Resign more than 2 years less than 6 years = Arbitration |

Are you using a created roster set? This player is making more than the league minimum, so it appears that he's been awarded a salary separately from what the game would give him automatically.

yes sporr
yes created real player roster set... so if there making more than the minium salary of 300,000, when contract is up there automatic a free agent next season reagardless if there less than 6 years in the majors? no arbritation or automatic resign... is that correct? thanks |

I think it's a loop hole bug. IRL, a player who makes more than the league minimum, like Josh Beckett of the Marlins, is still a subject to the roster rules and can't declare his free agency util he has 6 years of major league service.
Actually, I had the same experience in my solo league. If this problem is consistent, then I can probably tell you that he isn't going to be an FA next season. I had a young pitcher (Zach Day) whose major league service is just a little more than 1 year and was making $1.6M per year. The report told me that he would be a free agent after the season. Because I didn't really like his performance, I left him in the minor league and hoped that he would turn things around there. It didn't happen, so I expected him leaving as the season ended. However, he remained on my roster as I proceeded to the new season and was still making his $1.6M per year. At first, I thought I probably missed something the year before and thus, didn't think too much about it. But this time, I was really sure that the report told me he's going to be an FA after the season. So, when I found him returning to my roster again the next season, I realized that he wouldn't go away automatically. Since I was rebuilding my team and getting impatient with his little improvement, I traded him to unload his $1.6M per year. |
