Fan Loyalty/ Market & Ticket Prices?

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to make fan loyalty and the team market grow? Should I lower the ticket prices? Will that help at all?

I'm not sure how to make those grow, but I think they do so at the end of the year; I would assume that winning a lot of games would be the primary way to get these to grow.

To make Fan Interest grow, however, win on promotion days.

I ran a test league where I set all teams to Good Market and Good Loyalty. I then set the price of tickets as follows:

AL East: $8.00
AL Central: $9.00
AL West: $10.00

NL East: $10.00
NL Central: $11.00
NL West: $12.00

What I found is in the AL East the first place team sold out every game and had a huge amount of money for Merchandising Revenues.

The AL Central had made the most money from attendance and a decent amount of merchandising revenue.

The AL West had decent attendance and decent revenue.

Has anyone else ever noticed this?

I'm curious to know how the NL West team did, with ticket prices at $12.00 per.

All of the nl west was set to $12.00.

The team that was in first place was San Fran, with a record of 100-62.

There total attendance was 3,273,443. By the way I set all stadiums to 50,000 capacity. There Attendance Revenue was $39,281,316 and there merchandising revenue was $12,391,053. They rose from a 77 fan interest to 85 that year.

The second place team won 85 games. There fan interest dropped to 59 and they drew 2,592,604. They made $31,111,248 in attendance revenue and $9,038,952 in merchandise.

The last place team dropped to a fan interest 50, drew 2,461,910 w/a attendance revenue of $29,542,920 and merchandise revenue of $6,790,624.

Anymore questions let me know.

To me it seems like the best bet is to charge $9.00 a ticket if your fan interest is around 77.

Sorry, I was a little confused by everything. Can you give us the bottom line. If the goal was the greatest total income (attendance income plus merchandise income) - what was the best ticket price for the first place teams, for the mid placed teams (2nd or 3rd) and the last placed teams.

Thanks

In a nutshell, teams with a 77% Fan Interest seem to made them most money when starting off the season with tickets at $9.00. I haven't done studies with fan interest any higher.

Back in the dark ages (STB 2003), I asked the same question and someone replied that the number of "sellouts" during the year determine if "market" goes up or down. I have since seen this trend and have accepted it. Unfortunately I cannot link the response since it was so long ago.

So it does pay to lower prices to sell out
