How to disable coaches?

The button "toggles", but nothing. It still says "enabled". I too want to turn off the feature as it is annoying.

How long have you waited, it may take a couple of seconds for the change to be in place.

What do you mean by "nothing"?

If the league already had coaches and scouts when you turned it off the coaches and scouts will still exist. It just won't use them.

Don't get pissy with me

When I started the league I didn't know about enabling/disabling the coaches. I'd rather not fool with the coaches and depth setting, though I do sim my games. I'd rather just play manager and set the lineups, along with playing the role of a hands-off GM who keeps tabs on the minor leaguers, makes trades and other decisions in similar vein.

To figure out the problem you're having we're going to have to know what is happening with a bit more depth than "nothing".

When I clicked (in the 2003 season I just completed) the "enable" button for enabling/disabling coaches, there was a sound attached to clicking the button, but the button didn't change mode to "disable". With the beginning of the 2004 season it says "Sign coaches and scouts", so the disabling of the coaches didn't work

Will this be addressed in the next patch?

You can't change anything once in Manager Mode. You'll have to get Pierre's utility to turn Manager Mode off - make changes - then turn it back on.

What is the difference between Manager Mode and the other mode(s)? If I choose non-Manager Mode so that I don't have to use the coaches, will it affect the game negatively, other-wise?

Manager Mode simply locks everything down, and creates an environment where you can get hired / fired, have a family, etc. If you use the higher difficulties, it makes it harder to be successful. In non-Manager mode, you do not have those options.
