Injury Effectiveness question
i had a starter get injury with a strained tricep musle..it shows he is at 85% effectiveness and day to day ...recovery time 8-9 weeks..
how do pitchers pitch with 85% effectiveness? what happens if you keep him in the starting rotation? can he get hurt more? thanks Last edited by jbmagic; 06-03-2004 at 03:35 PM. |

well he will perform at 85% of his current rating
...although sometimes I have wondered if all ratings took a dip or if it was ratings based on area of injury.

i had the exact same injury to one of my starters... it was posted in the league news as a severe injury, but he's still able to go.

I always wondered that also, especially with position players. Is it an across the board dip to 85% of original ratings or factors combined? If you have a CF with a hand/arm injury that shouldn't affect his speed or range at all I would guess....

I had a young pitcher (Paul Carter, Cubs, 1916 season), who was 3-0, 1.00 in 3 starts,(3 CG's). In the 1st inning of his 4th game , he gets injured, a 85% injury for 4 weeks. His next 4 starts he was 0-4 with a era over 16. He then recieved another injury in his next game (not a start), which put him out for the rest of the season.
