Tournament Save and The Devestating Jab

I'd like to know when is there going to be a Tournament in progress save???

I'm tired of having to leave Title Bout running until I can finish a tournament. Computers being what they are tend to crash or need to be restarted, freeze etc. etc. It is rarely possible to find the time to finish a 16 fighter tournament in one sitting. Is is really that hard to fix this? It is a little frustrating seeing new features like print outs and the like taking priority over something like this. Any update would be appriciated.

My computer needs to be restarted and I am in the middle of a tournament I have spent 3 days playing.

Another thing is the 'devestating jab'. What gives? I never saw so many jabs knock down opponents! Is this a random event? Does the program pick a punch type for a knockdown? If so please remove the jab from the choices it has. A jab is a set up tool for a boxer and even if it did knock an opponant down it wouldn't happen with that much frequency.

I know this sounds like a big gripe email but the rest of the game is top notch. It is just that these two points should be fairly easy to fix. If not it would be interesting to know the reasons why.

Thanks

The devastating jab has been a problem discussed several times and -- to the best of my recollection -- there has never been any rationale as to why it hasn't been fixed since it has a direct (and very glaring) impact on the realism of the sim.

My guess is that, because jabs are the most often thrown punch & the program doesn't differentiate between punches for purposes of scoring KD's or KO's, we therefore get a grossly disproportionate number of devastating jabs (I had a fight where a guy with a very decent chin was both knocked down and, later in the fight, knocked out by a mediocre puncher's jab).

To my way of thinking, issues that have a direct bearing on the realism of the sim (which has nothing to do with the role playing version of the game) should have some kind of priority. But, hey, it's a great game & mentally I just replace "jab" with "straight left" and grab another beer.

For what it's worth, I also think there is also a disproportionate number of KD's & KO's being caused very early in fights by body shots. It happens in real life -- certainly more than KO jabs -- but not with the frequency it shows up in the game.

Andreas has said that he's working on it.

Jim has said in the past that the way the sim works, it picks the punch near the end, pretty much after the effect has taken place. Basically, the punch thrown has no meaning at all (only the 2pt. vs. 3pt punch matters). So you get things like this a lot.

The devestating Jab

Only way its hard work, is to reduce all the fighters left jabs
take 8 or so away and spread them among the other punches

I've always interpreted the "devastating jab" to be a straight left or right (or an overhand left or right). Lots of fighters had great straight punches, like Tommy Hearns, Larry Holmes and Ken Norton. There is no punch category for straight punches, other than the jab.
