Question About Expansion and the Rule V draft
Just a hypothetical, and I can't test it now because I am at work, but if you are expanding your league and the first thing you do is the amateur draft. Depending on the number of rounds you have set up (we'll say 10 for this example) each expansion team should have only 10 players after the draft is complete. (assuming no manual expansion draft was done) Now, Next up is the Rule V draft, my question is, would the two expansion teams whose 40 man rosters aren't close to full just keep picking players in the Rule V draft as sort of a hidden expansion draft. I know the quality of players wouldn't be that great, but it would be a quicker way to get the teams rosters over the 20 man limit without manually doing anything.
Anyone have any experience with this or is willing to test it out? Thanks |

I believe that the Rule 5 draft will last as long as teams are still picking players. Once a round ends in which no player picked, it ends.

When I add 2 expansion teams I just add from the free agent players.
I fill my roster with newly signed players from that list. The CPU controlled team doesnt fill up their rosters with free agents so I generate AAA players and send them up for that team. |
