Domination like I have never seen...
I have been playing OOTP since OOTP4 and have played many solo seasons and many with a small group of friends where the majority of teams were controlled by the computer. With OOTP6 I started up a league with two 8 team leagues where the top team from each league plays a 7 game World Series. Here is the list of Series Champions:
2004 World Series Winner Norfolk, beat Philadelphia 4 to 1 2005 World Series Winner Cleveland, beat Houston 4 to 2 2006 World Series Winner Minneapolis, beat Norfolk 4 to 2 2007 World Series Winner Detroit, beat Norfolk 4 to 0 2008 World Series Winner Detroit, beat Indianapolis 4 to 3 2009 World Series Winner Detroit, beat Chicago 4 to 3 2010 World Series Winner Detroit, beat Indianapolis 4 to 0 2011 World Series Winner Detroit, beat Chicago 4 to 1 WOW! Detroit has won five in a row... I have seen that kind of dynasty in OOTP before by human controlled teams... but I control Chicago! I have never seen a computer-controlled team stay as dominant as Detroit has for such a long period of time. And they usually usually win their league by a good 10 games or so. They have the two best pitchers in the American League, and three of the best hitters. I just finished the 2012 regular season, and Detroit dominated again. Chicago is going to try to end their run in the Series...

Game One
The Chicago Dragons arrive in Detroit to face the team that has beaten them in the World Series two of the last three years. The Dragons are without their star slugger Bill Devitt, who was injured two months into the 2012 season and was lost for the remainder of the year. He had hit .321 with 40 homers in 2011, and his replacement for 2012 had not come close to his production in the regular season. No, young Hoyt Alexander only hit .264 with 6 homers in 383 AB, but his speed allowed him to steal 36 bases. Although the Dragons will miss Devitt in the Series, they know that they have a great starting pitcher going in game one. Paul "Pumpkin" Weatherby was Chicago's first overall pick in the initial 2004 draft, taken 7th overall. The 30-year-old Weatherby went 15-5 in the regular season with a 2.47 ERA. He missed 6 six weeks of the season due to a strained rotator cuff muscle, but returned just in time for the postseason.
Game one goes to the Detroit Dukes by a score of 5-3. Rock steady leftfielder Allen Harris hit a two run homer for the Dragons in the 3rd, giving them a 3-1 lead. The 37 year old was skipped over until the 15th round in the initial draft, but has provided Chicago with 9 straight seasons of between 22 and 31 homers. He has driven in at least 100 six times and has a .292 career batting average. However, Detroit ties the game in the 4th and scores again in the 5th and the 8th to give their spectacular starter Ferdinand Vega the win.

Game Two
Today's game features another great pitching matchup. For Chicago: 29-year-old William Johnston, who went 17-6 in the regular season with a league-leading 1.76 ERA. For Detroit, playoff regular Freddy Medina, who went 23-6 with a 2.57 ERA. Medina has helped break Chicagoans hearts in two previous years, and his 10-2 postseason record shows a large part of the reason for Detroit's reign atop baseball.
The line score for each pitcher pretty much tells the story... Medina showed Johnston how a real clutch pitcher throws. Johnston: 6 IP, 9 H, 0 BB, 5 ER, 4 K. Medina: 8 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 0 ER, 8 K. Detroit wins 5-0 as Chicago is out-hit 11-4. 38-year-old SS Floyd Caggiano, who only hit 5 homers in 379 regular season AB, deals the big blow with a two-run homer in the 2nd inning against Johnston. The Series heads to Chicago next, with the Dragons down 2 games.
