Is there a way to "exit" the playoffs?
I was wondering if there was anyway to get out of the playoffs during a season. For some reason the game only recorded 153 games in the 154 game season. Now, normally I wouldn't mind, but in one division, the leader is 1 game ahead, so there would be a chance for the 2nd place team to force a tiebreaker playoff. But, after I finished the 153 game, it went into the playoff mode.
I tried deleting the scheduled playoff games and adding in a full schedule of games, but when I try and play the games, it records it as the 1st game of the playoffs. Anyone have any ideas? |

That's either a bug or something was wrong with your original schedule. You might be stuck with having to overlook that problem for that season.
Either way, I've never heard of that one before and don't know how you could fix it.

Just consider it as if the rules from prior to 1951 are in effect. That is, the last game of the season for the 2nd place team got rained out and thus they are out of luck.
Prior to 1951, there was NO provision for the replaying of a postponed game after the official ending date of the season. All postponed games HAD to be made up before the regularly scheduled end of the season, because when the season reached the ending date, it was over. Period. This theoretically meant that a team could win or lose the pennant by a half-game. If, for example, two teams were tied for the pennant going into the last regularly scheduled day of the season, if Team A's game got rained out while Team B played its game and won, Team B would have been declared the pennant winner by a half-game. Conversely, if Team A was rained out and Team B played and lost, Team A would've been the pennant winner by a half-game. It was precisely this scenario of a team winning or losing the pennant on the last day of the season due to a rain out which got the rule changed to allow for a postponed game to be made up after the official ending date of the season if it had a bearing on the pennant race. |
