"...wish to play for a winning team..."
I know in v5 that, even if you made it over .500 by the end of the season, a player with a "I wish to play for a winning organization next year" attitude would not resign with you had a losing year the previous season.
Does anyone know if this has been changed in v6? I took over a team that has a miserable recent past and one of the players I want to resign has given me that response. I have turned the team around and look to be able to at least make a .500 season out of it. But I don't know if the player will change his opinion or not. |

I'm not sure how to gauge what 'winning team' means. In my current OOTP6 game, imported from OOTP5, I've made the playoffs for 20 straight seasons, winning the Series about a dozen times.
If a player or coach/scout wants to play for a winning team and I try to sign him, I'm guaranteed to get the "I simply do not like your organization, sorry!" line. BMW

"I simply do not like your organization" is different than "I want to play for a winner."

- Dan PS - my own take on "play for a winner" is defined as wanting to play for someone who made the playoffs, but I really don't know (my teams are likewise always in the playoffs). |

Not trying to knock your answer as you've not dealt with this type of issue before. I would be nice if someone who had would provide some guidance though.
I do appreciate any help and/or tips I get though as it answers other questions I might have not asked. |

i would imagine it would be the same as v.5 -- you didnt have to finish at .500, you just had to be at least .500 when you offered the extension

Not one time, nor just a few times I can remember. Every time I've tried to sign someone with "I want to play for a winner." I just thought it was odd. BMW |

I've had players reject playing for me because they want to win for a winning team... that is all good and all... but I had won the WS the year before

I have a guy on my team who won't dicuss a new contract because he's unhappy with his playing time. The funny thing is that I've started him every game except for a 15 day spell he was on the DL. Well, to the trading block he goes.
