Missing prospects.... help?

I just a finished a season and found that all of my prospects at double-A and A-ball were gone, as were several of my decent AAA prospects. This happened not only to my team, but to every team. Imagine my consternation to see that "Angel Guzman" and "Andy Sisco", et al, were gone!

(On a sidenote, the amateur draft that was slated for ten rounds had enough prospects only for three, so it was basically an all-around uneventful off-season.)

I intend to delete the league and start over again rather than get too upset about it, but I want to be able to prevent it from happening again.

Has anything like this happened to anyone else? Or does anyone have an idea of what might have happened? Perhaps a problem with the league setup? (Although I can't imagine how, seeing how thorough I was about that.)

Maybe this is something that reinstalling the game would "fix"?

That sounds like a MOAB (mother of all bugs). I've never had this happen personally, nor have I heard of anyone else being afflicted with this.

Are you sure they disappeared? At any point during the season, did you allow the AI to run your club? Maybe they suffered career-ending injuries and were subsequently released by the AI, or were traded. Check the "find player by name" search feature to be sure they've vanished.

If they have vanished, you'll probably want to do a clean re-install of the game, apply the patch, and start from scratch. There's no point in continuing the game as it is if your blue-chip prospects are going to pull a D.B. Cooper every year.

I ran the club the entire season. I simmed about 90 percent of the games, but the lineups, rotation, depth charts, strategeries, etc. were all set and backed up by me.

The problems didn't occur until the postseason had finished.

First, sleep. Then, reinstall.

Sure they aren't 6th year free agents?

I'm positive most of them weren't six-year free agents. Save for a handful, most of the lost players were 23 years old and under.
