How to make a Roster Download my default roster...

I'm working off a set of rosters I downloaded, but I'm very paranoid that if I was to start up a season, that it would be the end of me being able to use those rosters to start a franchise again.

Whenever I select just a plain "Start a Standard Season", it still comes up with the default misnamed players. So how would I go about making my roster download the default roster... or is that not even an option, and I would just have to continue to download and edit my rosters, before every season I start.

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean, but if you want to ensure that you can use the roster you downloaded to start another league in the future, you can just keep a sepparate copy of the starting .lg directory. If you put the copy under the OOTP6 folder and keep the .lg extension, you will see this new league listed sepparatley when you try to 'Open League'. So, when you want to start over, you can just open that new league and you're laughing.

place the files you downloaded in the create folder. overwriting the players.dat, teams.dat, etc.. will fix this. every league you start comes from the files in teh Create folder.

I did what Faroo said, and no matter what kind of league I start, it's always without the real life players. Anyone know why that happens and how I can make it so my downloaded rosters show up on every league I start?

If you copy it into the Create folder, any new leagues should be created with that roster set. Make sure they're not in a subdirectory of that folder.

It's not in a sub file. Does it matter whether I extracted or copied?

It shouldn't. Did you select Default Players to be used when you created the league?

Yes. The whole process of what I did: Extracted Halofan.lg to Create folder in OOTP6 folder. Went to Start Standard League, and they were still the default fictional players. So I made sure it was in there, tried it again, same thing happened. I made sure again, and started a Custom League, using the "Default" player function, and it was still the default fictional players.

you not suppose to extract the halofan.lg to the create folder..

what you suppose to do is keep the halofan.lg folder as is and put it in the ootp 6 folder.....

then start game, goto continue league and then goto file on top left and do open league....pick halofan.lg and you are ready to play...

Those are the instructions to start "halofan.lg". I'm trying to make the halofan roster work for any league I start, so that all I have to do is create a new league and his roster will be in there already.

You didn't extract halofan.lg directly in Create, you copied the contents of the halofan.lg folder into Create, correct? Just making absolutely sure because this sounds like the problem to me.

The *.lg folder has to be directly under the OOTP directory.

Well, I've got it done now. Both my rosters and stadiums show up on any league I start. Now for the logos....
