Two OOTP6 questions.
*Using CBL 2.0 real MLB rosters*
Is there a way to add player pics (action and pose pics) to this sim for fictional players as well? For example, I currently play a real league (real players and teams) but over time I will have fictional players come into the league because sooner or later those players will retire. Is there a way to add player pics to the game so the fictional players get faces as well? Second question, in the HTML player report it shows the players career. Even though I clicked "erase all career stats" in the league setup area I still see the real/actual "years of service" in the players report. Is there a way to earse those stats as well so that the sim ONLY recognizes the actaul time played in the sim? Thanks in advance.

Yeah you can add a pic to fictional players. Just use the firstname_lastname.bmp naming convention and put it in the PHOTOS directory with all the other ones. If you're looking for generic player pics, I'd suggest getting either LvnLegend's or Killebrew's set here: http://files.simcentral.net/index/Out_of_the_Park/ Note that for picture sets you can still use stuff from OOTP4 & OOTP5, which both those sets are under IIRC.

OK, I am new to this so please forgive me for asking but how do you use the firstname_lastname.bmp naming convention and what is it? Is this some type of utility? Thanks once again. |

He meant naming the pictures(files) like this "pedro_martinez.bmp" instead of the numbering method "p342.bmp". As long as the file name is the same as the player name, it will link up.

No, say the fictional player's name is John Smith...then you would name the pic you want to represent him john_smith.bmp. (and it has to be a bmp file, so if you have a pic you want to use that's a gif or jpg, you have to convert it to a bmp using an image utility like IrfanView).

Ok. Wow, thats alot of renaming to do. To bad there wasnt a folder in which you could just put a bunch of photos in it and then the sim would randomly pick out new photo for each player.
Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Actually you can do that too if you just want the game to pick players for you randomly from the facepack. I thought you wanted to actually assign the pics yourself. Yeah, there's two ways you can assign a pic to a player, the one I mentioned and the one using the player id. You just throw the fictional face packs in the photo directory (they have to be BMPs though), and you'll get the desired effect. The pictures are all numbered sequentialy with a 'p' prefix (p194, p195) and one of them will just link up with the fictional player based on his id.
