Well...There goes that game.

I was playing a game with the Orioles, and I accidentally put in a sub for my DH. When I have to change his position, I can either leave it at PH (which is an incomplete lineup), or give him a position in the field, which removes another player's position (incomplete lineup). So basically, I can't leave the lineup screen unless I quit OOTP altogether. Any way to get around this if you accidentally sub for your DH?

All I can think of is to put in a new pitcher in the the slot that the DH was in or something like that.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!

Did previous versions of OOTP not give the DH as an available position after inserting a PH, or is this an oversite in V.6?

Here's excerpts from the official rule text on DHers.
reference Baseball-Almanac.com
Quote:
Pinch hitters for a Designated Hitter may be used. Any substitute hitter for a Designated Hitter becomes the Designated Hitter.

OOTP currently doesn't do this. I don't think it ever did. What it does is this:
Quote:
A replaced Designated Hitter shall not re enter the game in any capacity. The Designated Hitter may be used defensively, continuing to bat in the same position in the batting order, but the pitcher must then bat in the place of the substituted defensive player, unless more than one substitution is made, and the manager then must designate their spots in the batting order.

I would like to keep players who PH for the DH as the DH (as first excerpt above). This also applies to PRs.
Quote:
A runner may be substituted for the Designated Hitter and the runner assumes the role of Designated Hitter.

Can we get this in the next patch, or big update? Thanks.

This is the problem, though. In my league, for example, I have Eduardo Perez, a monster against lefties, at DH vs. LHP's. There have been couple situation when I have wanted to pinch run for him, but can't. Because if I do, it will make me put that player at a position in the field, and there is now way of placing the pitcher in the lineup to fix that.
