V6 Attendance sooo low

I am using CBL's roster set in v6. Opening day in Tampa had an attendance of only about 7,000. The home opener at Yankee Stadium had only 27,000 fans. Anybody else having this issue? Isn't this going to cause financial problems for most teams? What can be done to correct?

Are you comparing your attendance numbers to OOTP 5 or to MLB numbers, because (besides your NYY numbers) the TB would be about right for the past couple years. LOL....check out NYY ticket prices...they may be charging too much.

Ticket price doesn't seem high for NYY. Set at $10. Any ideas?

I noticed that home openers only count for an attendance boost if they are the season opener as well. If you satart your season on the road, you lose the almost-guaranteed sellout of your home opener.

I definately agree. Starting with the default Houston team, I got ~30,000 opening day (which hasn't occured in YEARS) and mid to low 20,000 (which, again, hasnt happened in years) from then on.

Teams with good to big markets should have their stadiums sell out or near sell outs (average attendance at a Houston game, for example, should be 33-37,000 in a 43,000 seat ballpark instead of 25,000).

Some people fail to remember that OOTP6 isn't supposed to mimic the MLB.

Well, in a game I'm playing right now, Citizens Bank Park has got a paid attendance of 35222 against the Diamondbacks...seems okay to me...

excuse me for saying this, but this is a pathetic answer to a legitimate question about the way the game handles attendance. why in the world would a top-notch build a 50,000 seat stadium if they KNEW that they would never get more than 35,000 spectators on ANY given day?

i understand that ootp isnt supposed to imitate the mlb, but baseball is baseball and professional sports are professional sports. my example with houston could be extended to ANY sport.

dumb, non-helpful answer.

oh and might i add that if everyone had the same mindset, we'd all be overly content with OOTP, regardless of the state of the game. i assume you'd be happy if you could buy robotic arms upgrades that fire 6 balls at once for your pitchers? or how about little rocket boosters to put in your players' shoes so they run faster?

this is supposed to be a simulation, regardless of whether it mimics the MLB or not (i think it can and SHOULD be, even if markus does not decide to get licenses from the MLBPA...where else is baseball played differently? the rules are the same as well as the logistics of professional sports).

And I assume some people want to be ass holes when I point something out.

Just to let your know, it appeared that your argument of attendence was "My attendence isn't like the MLB, I want this changed!" That triggered my reply, which you took completly out of context.

Thats odd, the default league setup happens to be setup exactly like MLB, with the actual MLB cities represented, the leagues names AL and NL, the AL having a DH...

and i think that's where the problem is. while i can see lowering attendance a bit so that there arent as many sellouts, i dont think the answer is lowering it by lets say 25%, so that absolutely no sellouts occur, and moreover the worse-off teams have atrocious attendance. there must be a way to curve attendance instead of lowering it as a whole. that way, good teams get 70-85% capacity and only a select few really good teams sell out (market HUGE, loyalty HUGE).

all in all, i think the attendance system should resemble a bell curve shifted to the right, so that the average % of spectators at a ball game is in the 60-70% range instead of lowering attendance as if it were a single sum (like a bar, where every team's attendance is lowered the same %)

purely coincidence....especially the default statistics that are identical to 2003's numbers...purely coincidence.
