Playoffs properly seeded?

In OOTP5, the best team in the league would play the worst in the playoffs, regardless of division. In real life though, two teams from the same division cannot meet in the first round. Has this been fixed?

This always bugged me, especially when I got knocked out by a team I wasn't even supposed to be playing.

Honestly, you can agrue that OOTP is seeded correct and MLB incorrect.

I actually prefer the way OOTP does it. Perhaps some customization of this area is in order

Similiar to the seeds, I hate how MLB awards home field in the world series., it should go to the team with the most wins.

A customization option would be nice AND easy

It gets more complicated when one realizes that prior to 1998 the home field for the rounds was given to specific divisions rather than the team with the better record. The result of this was to further muddy the waters in terms of who played who.

As Jonzard said, customization is the solution here. I proposed last year a simple drap-and-drop system on the playoff tree display page to set whatever matchups you wanted if you didn't like the default ones.

I agree totally that the method OOTP uses makes far more sense. However, for those of us that play MLB franchises and such, it'd be nice to have that bit of realism in there.

I think being able to pick the playoff match ups would be the easiest route. Just throw who you want in the spot you want them and go.

Solves any problem anyone could have with it.

They should take it a step further and let you select which teams you want in the playoffs and where.
