A different type of league...
We have a small league and are looking for some owners. This league is very different than most leagues on the market. What makes us so difference? Instead of having a high intensity league, we have a low intensity league. We don't have a web page, instead we only post the file. We sim two games for every real day. One could check the file everyday, but that is not what is expected. It is your team, you check it when you want. If you like the one week sims twice a week, then check the file on the days you have open (so you might send your lineup in on Thursday and Sundays, someone else might do it on Tuesday and Saturday, someone else might do it everyday), so whatever works for you is fine with us. We don't even attempt to fill the league up, as we are looking for quality owners who want to play a fun game. All open teams are ran by the computer. We realize this is not for everyone, but if this sounds like fun to you, send me an email to william4192@yahoo.com and I'll send you the link to the file.
We have a mix of current players and old timers. Everything is very laid back and we only do this for fun, so we won't kill you with rules.

Sounds like an interesting concept. Kind of curious about a couple of things.
How do owners contact each other and conduct trades? Do you just use the built in trading block and then do them via email? How do you run the off season FA, Ammy Draft, ST. Do you use things like Coahces and Scouts? Do you have a salary cap? Any other financial restrictions? Waivers, in season FA's, etc etc. |

Owners contact anyway they want: via email, instand messinger etc...
Yes, we also use the in game trading block. The truth is we have a low number of owners, but they are all good owners. We try to get together (schedules permitting) and do FA semi-live (same with the draft and playoffs). But sometimes this is impossible. This year for the playoffs we did it one game per one day and then the days we could get together we did as much as time permitted. It was a lot of fun. I hope this is not confusing. We use coaches and scouts. We like using them. We don't have a salary cap per se (although it is set a crazy number like 150M to keep salary demands from getting too out of whack), but we would never enforce the cap if someone got close to it. No finanical restrictions. Honestly, I'm an open market type of guy. If you build your market up and win a lot, you should get to spend a lot of money. That is just how I feel. Since we keep a low number of owners, we just talk out any disputes or any new ideas. I "run" the league (i.e. do the sims), but honestly my vote does not count anymore than anyone else's. We run it to have fun and because we love baseball. Basically, if it is in the game...we try and use it. We are always open to good ideas.

In game trading block is very useless, any player you place on it that is in the last year of a contract will either not resign or want way more money, being on the block always ticks players off. Test it if you wish, try resigning someone then place him on the trade block and see how it is different.

We are looking to add a couple of owners during this offseason. Email me if you would like to talk about taking over a team.

LOC (League of Champions). We will be converting the file to OOTP6 upon release (or shortly thereafter). Anyone game for a team?

Wrong address. I"m sorry. We no longer use a web page, strictly by file.
http://teamrebels.com/Leagueplay/thefile.zip Thanks for the interest!

1) We like to keep it simple
2) Less work all the way around 3) We keep a small league with a file, and that is the best way to get info 4) (and biggest) No $$ for web space

I got the file thanks. I'm new to OOTP having only had the game about a week but was in 2 High Heat Leagues a couple years back. I feel dumb asking this question but how do you import these files into the game to see them? I have downloaded several files from other leagres and they always have a folder with the suffix .lg which you simply unzip to your main OOTP directory. However yours has no such folder in your zip file so I created one called LOC.lg which I then unzipped your file to but when I try to open it in OOTP it says invalid player file . This is the first one I ever got that won't work.
what year is the league in and does it use real or fictional players? Which teams are open ? . My thoughts on not having a webpage is that you really don't need one though one is nice but it's just a lot of extra work. I do think that you should at least have a forum for owners tocommunicate in that all can see & too show players they want to trade ect. |
